Just a small neighborhood event, started in 1949. Kids decorate their bikes, then they
slowly parade around the block, and then the Fire Dept turns the hoses on the kids. :D

I love it.
Bigmark do you ever get out to any of the Cleveland area rides? Boardman is about 1 hour east of us.

Looks like fun.

Too bad only half of the kids were wearing helmets, tho.

Thanks for posting the pictures of Oval Park. They capture some of the small town flavor that most people crave.

I actually heard some one in Montreat, NC (210 miles away) who lamented the fact that he was missing the Oval Park parade. But he did smile because all seven of his grandchildren were visiting in Montreat.

To promote peace and sanity, great-grandma was paying their enrollment for clubs five days a week. :p

That looks fun as well as refreshing.

Up in Belgrade Lakes, ME, I participate in a similarly enjoyable parade as leader of the bicycle section.
The only drawback is that the fire department is unable to wet us down.
