Just a head's up for you tightwads...

Nashbar has the "Vittoria Randonneur Pro Touring Folding Tire" for $12.99. (normally $29.99)

Specs:
700x37
Weight: 430g
Thread count: 120tpi
Folding tire-kevlar bead
"Double Shielding" puncture protection
Reflective sidewalls

Couldn't find much info on these particular tires. It was written up favorably on the phred forum--lively road feel and strong/light combination. Seems that many high-end European trekking bikes come stock with these tires. If anybody has direct experience, please post.

I bought 4 with the 10% coupon. :)

I have the steel bead version. Over 2000 miles and no flats. Used for a 550 mile tour with no problems.

At 550 grams (for steel bead) I don't think they fit into the "lively" category. The 430 gram version must be a little better.
