Hi
I'm going to go to Finland by bike. I will travel from Poland to Riga by train and then to Tallin by bike. From Tallin to Helsinki by ferry and from helsinki up, to north by bike. So, I have some questions.

If somebody know any bike routes in finland, or the place (www) where can I find it?
If somebody know the list of free shelters in Finland?
And, at the end, if someone read or write any article about travel in Finland by bike and could send me it or tell me where can I find it?

Thanks
Marek

I have cycled most of Finland over the years. My favourite area is eastern Finland. From Helsinki head east and head for Imatra and then Joensuu and follow the Russian border north. The people along the border are very pleasant, and the lake views are nice. You can buy cycle maps from most bookshops. Enjoy the trip.

Thanks,
It is not such easy as you think because there isn't any map of finland in Poland. The problem is that i can't find any map of overall, not only map for bikers. I think I will buy it in helsinki, but before traveling, I need to know which way I should choose.

It would be great if you could tell me about roads in Finland. Is there many cars on them? What kind of roads I should choose to ride without stress ;) maybe you could tell me a color.

And about the road you that you told me. Do I need to go on road number 7 and 6, or there are any minor, better ways? Because I don't like big cars... :) And is it good idea to go LAponia this way?

Thanks
Marek

Marek, I don't know how I did not notice this thread earlier. Sorry about that. If you still need answers to these questions, please let me know and I'll see what I can come up with.
