Hi. I ride with these pedals on my Fuji Roubaix Pro road bike:

Two things to note before I provide details of my problems -- First, I have tightened the tension on the pedals a good bit in hopes that this would fix the problems below. This has not worked. Second, I have mounted the cleats to the Geko shoes with the provided screws and nothing else. No spacers, shims etc. This shoe has a beefy off-road sole. Now the details, if I may:
1. I'm feeling like the connection between cleats and pedals is weak at best. When I pull up on the recovery pedal stroke, the pedals come free sometimes without much effort.
2. The other issue is with the left pedal/shoe combination. When I rise out of the saddle to climb and hit the bottom of my downward power pedal stroke, the connection is "squishy" i.e. I can feel the shoe moving/clicking in the pedal and it feels very unstable.
Any advice is appreciated.
