im really getting mad and thinking about cutting of ties with the bmx scene in the area and just riding by myself or with my best friend. god i cant stand it. the 6 or 7 people i ride with and that make up most of the scene are starting to get really annoying. they all complain that the dont wanna ride and never want to try new things. always saying things like "im gonna ride blah blah blah today" but never show up. getting really annoying. i know theres a big scene in arlington (Virginia, about 5 minute drive from me) but its all really really good people and probably wouldnt wanna be cought hanging with me, besides i dont no any of them. dang its such a small scene up here.
how are yalls scenes?

There is no flatland 'scene'.
over here it is not any better than were you are. most of the people that i ride with are pretty bad. we dont have the room for big dirt jumps, one kid i know gets his front wheel up and rolls right over it with his back wheel. then he says "dude! i got air on that one" this is also annoying becasue it ruins the lip on the jumps. there is no one with the skills to do anything flat land, and we are hard up for spots to ride street. so the majority of people around here have haros and fits just so then can launch off a 3/4ft curb. they did put a multi-layer kind of sitting, veiwing the river area. just our luck that across the street is the precint.
oh yea like a month ago the parks department kicked us out of were we used to jump, becasuse some other kids decided to dig some holes and cut down a few trees. so we had to start new next to condos. and there are kids transvrsing the trail alot, we tried to tell them not to hit the jumps and to jsut go around them, the dont listen very well. as for parks, one and it is pretty bad.
i get by though.
atleast you have some people to work with, we got about 5 people in our "scene" so its actually not really a scene at all

I leave my house and go to a spot around the corner. see some of my friends, go riding street. see other riders I know. Go to the banks. meet some other riders ( Edwin Vic Ayala, Vinnie Sammon, Wormz). Riding 30-deep in manhattan. Typical day for me

I'll give you this - riding into Manhattan on a BMX does sound like fun. Really. I wouldn't do it on a road or MTB, but that would be cool on a BMX.

Thats like a 10 mile ride. Not really alot I ride about the same distance everyday, but BMX in Manhatten that'd be badass.

sometimes, but i just take the J train, first stop to last stop. It leaves from jamaica, and ends at the banks.
and it's not a 10 mile ride. Jamaica is all the way east. to get to manhattan, i must go through the ghetto
( bed stuy,williamsburg, bushwick)

watch "Can I Eat". 75% of the spots are in manhattan and most of them are like ten minutes from the banks
yea, bed stuy is pretty bad now. they are trying to do some reforms over there i think.
