I am looking into either purchasing a geared road bike or a single speed road bike...im looking to get a specialized allez if i get a geared one and im looking at the langster if i get a singlespeed...
anyways my question...
how good are single speeds for hills...like out by my friends house, there are rolling hills with a few flats in between, but last time we rode 26 miles, him on his road bike, me on my mtb and that almost killed me...the high rolling resistance just plain sucks...so thats why i started looking at road bikes...so is a singlespeed probably okay for the hills or should i go ahead and get a geared road bike...

thanks for ur help! : )

It would be cheaper to buy some 'street slicks' for your mtb. Pump em up to 80 psi or whatever their maximum psi is.
