Mountain Biking - My new fork.

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I had an RST Gila T5 that was bugging me, you know the mobile pogo stick thing. So I found myself a Marzocchi in good condition for $170 Aust by the time I landed it but it was a pogostick too! - no damping mechanism, so it was sold on. Finally I went and bought a new old stock RST Delta HL, a dual crown with air and mcu damping with coil suspenders. Now the bit I find interesting, before I bought I measured as best I could from photo's but wasn't sure until I had it in my hand. Its the same length from axle centreline to top of (bottom) crown as was my single crown, in short my geometry is exactly what it was before, I measured the head angle before and after and there is no change. To cap it off the fork I replaced is one of RST's lesser efforts and weighs plenty, the delta hl is their 3rd from top fork for 2000 and is exclusively magnesium and aluminium, the only steel in it are the coils and the bolts (OK and the bearings pendant!) In short my dual crown weighs less, dosen't change the geometry at all and works a hundred times better than the gila t5 or the exr comp all for $152 Aust :D
Edit: I just know I'm going to get some ***** for admitting I paid for an RST. :D

You actually BOUGHT an RST?! ;) But seriously, how much travel does that thing have? 100mm? 100mm travel DC? Oh well, if you're happy with it... :D

100mm upgradable to 127mm with speed springs. But I wont be doing that as I might also have to play with the location of the lower crown and that would change my geometry. Happy? Oh yeah, plush travel and real damping at last.

You I can tolerate, after all most of what pisses me off about slack posting also pisses you off. And when your not dishing it out you offer some good advice and a measure of practicality. Your slack-jawed, drooling, lick-spittles on the other hand creep me out. Hence the get a life comment. However, just because I slip up once and am in a hurry when I post so I dont go back and correct it you dont have to jump on everything. I realize this forum means a lot to you but I dont believe you actually own it yet. Lighten up, its not like its my first week here still.

Sorry maelstrom, but I do believe that harov3 just 0WN3D raiyn. However, Raiyn really isn't that bad. I just think that quoting is more annoying than just using the keyboard quoting, IMHO. Copy, shift+quote, paste shift+quote, less efficiecient for first quote, but not for numerous quotes.

That's funny. Clicking a link is a lot faster than copy pasting. I would think that if you're in THAT much of a hurry you'd want the faster option.
