if u get that with 48 spoke wheels, u should be good.

its a great bike and for the price DAMN....

as for JMC...theres not too many people that TRUELY need 48H/spokes...almost everyone can use 36H/Spokes..48 is just a waste of weight unless you
a). are a bike thrower
b). are super abusive (bike thrower, street rider)
c). break spokes or destroy wheels easily

well, in that case, i definately need em.

i ain't a bike thrower, but i ride street and i generally bust spokes out with my head or my knees if i bail and don't have time to react. mainly when doing new tricks...
but point heard, lesson learnt.
but back to the point, we basically agree that its a good bike for the price.

Stolen bmxs are at Dans too....I always wondered about them. spokes 36H is fine...48 is insane. I think its overkill

Have your spokes properly tensioned. If your spokes are all evenly tensioned, you shouldn't be breaking spokes.

There you go. But that's why your spokes break. I don't think I've broke one in 30 years of riding.

You break spokes with your head and knees? I have to say I've been riding street for about 5 years and have never to this day hit my head or knees on my spokes. Explain how that happens.. please.

48 is just fine, especially for street, especially if your talking about a decent bike that isn't the best quality.

i'm convinced it more because if your knee plows into them from anout 5ft up, 1 or 2 will bust out. i'm rubbish at science and stuff, but someone who isn't could probably explain better, thats just my experience.

Do you know him personally?

Do you know him personally?

No, but if he's breaking spokes when he crashes, he's crashing pretty hard. And he makes it sound like it's a frequent event.

Yea. it's just the whole head and knees thing I dont get..

For an abusing rider 48H is overkill. 36 is usually fine. simple grinds and manuals dont need 48

JMC EXPLAINS:

these things, terrible and painful as they are, are usually caused on dodgey, ghetto style ramps built out of all sorts of stuff, of which its the landing that usually collapses, and as i test most of em, and cuz they broke down our park, and as i'm waiting for the Boundry Lane Trails to be rebuilt, i am forced to ride dodgey junk.
that now said, i use junk spokes due to limited availability of anything better, but through recent increase maintainece, my spokes last longer.
strange things happen when i eat blue foodstuffs. my friends forced me to eat like 30 blue pixie sticks and i went loco and tried to tabletop while supermanning(i can do neither of these tricks) and thats how my head bust out 2 of my spokes.
my knee does the busting out of spokes thing as i'm trying to learn how to tabletop, and i used to get horribly tangled up and my knee would hit the spokes of the front tire.
as a result of this, a surgeon wanted to perform an Arthroscopy on my knee but as that would mean no riding for 3 months i said NO WAY, and now i have a messed up left.

i hope that made sense, cuz its the best i can explain.

respect. J

There you go. But that's why your spokes break. I don't think I've broke one in 30 years of riding.

I've broken four in eleven years, and it was because someone ran into me from the side and nailed my front wheel with a peg.

i have some bent spokes on my front wheel now...becaue of a peg to the wheel at Vans when it was still open...should i get them replaced or is it not worth it...

how much do you guys think it would cost me...
(i would do it myself but im bad with truing and spokes and wheels in general)

i have Odyssey 48H F/F wheels...

I have a couple bent spokes, but that cause this *** threw a hug rock at my wheel and hit my spokes. He also slammed my head through a wall. Sad thing is he's my friend LOL.
