BMX - headsets

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Just get a Solid, it's unsealed, but you'll never have to replace it and it very, very requires maintenence. If you want one, though, you'll have to go through Albes or Empire.

Bah. The King is overrated and overpriced; I broke one in two months of use last year, and I wasn't running it too tight or too loose, and didn't do any particularily hard nosestacks, either.

Good to know. I'm running FSA Impact (integrated) on one bike, janky old unsealed Dia-Compe on the other and I was thinking about upgrading it.
But King headsets come in so many pretty colors!
FSA Pig. Get the DH Pro if you want to set it and forget it. Oversized, sealed angular contact bearings. Burly goodness. Or the regular Pig if you just want bigger balls than everyone else.
i think im going with the fsa dh pro pig sealed headset

I think the FSA DEEP CUP PIG HEADSET (Sealed)is The Best for it's prices. It is Designed to help eliminate ovalized headtubes & shifting cups. The Deep Cup features 22mm of insertion, compared to 12mm for a typical headset. Sealed bearings keep everything smooth.
I suppose cut and paste is better than most of the nonsense we see here. And he agrees with me on the FSA. I guess not all noobs are knobs.

wow. your either a spokesperson for them or you are damn good at "copy" "pasting" off of Dans Comp...
hmmm
Copy/paste is not really a difficult thing to master. The hard sell would have been to include a link. He's just a noob that isn't annoying.
The Solid is by far the best. And don't sweat the unsealed part, that's what old inner tubes are for.

Cut a 2 cm ring off an old innertube and slip it over the cup, it'll keep out most of the crud.
