Cannondale is working with SRM, makers of power meters, 2PEAK training systems, and T-Mobile to display real-time heart rate and power numbers, for two members of the Lampre-Caffita squad, which rides Cannondale frames.
Salvatore Commesso and Gerrit Glomser are the two guinea pigs.
Commesso, in the breakaway, is running at 181 beats/minute, outputting 437 watts, while traveling at 31.1 km/h, up the 2nd Category Col de la Schlucht.

the heart rates they show on OLN just make me sad. These guys are crusing at 26-30 mph on flat ground and the guys who aren't out on the very front are at like 120 bpm. that's the kind of heart rate i have at like 15-16 mph on the flats. I suck
If you were being sucked in and pulled along by the peloton vortex, your heart rate would be that low too. Riding solo, you shouldn't get so down on yourself, buddy. :)

hey no worries, i was just jokin' around. But even when i ride with 80 or 90 riders, to keep that pace in the pack i am in my 150's or 160's. hmmmm.... guess that's why i'm not in france right now :)

Do you guys know what the second number shown on OLN stands for???
The first is the speed, the second is always some cryptic three-digit number ending with M (i.e. 234M or 101M) and the last one is the heart rate (actually two #s: current and max HRs). Can't see any relationship of this number to the other two... I thought it might be power numbers but it just looks strange (it isn't always bigger when heart rate is higher...)
