is there such a thing as the front end of a bmx bike being too light compared to the rear?

sorta ya sorta no....i mean my friends bike is really light up front and it throws me off when i jump i always land with the frony up to high on his bike...so ya i guess there is a bad thing there
If more weight is biased to either end, your bike will be unbalanced. This may make some tricks, or even jumping. somewhat trickier.

Theres is one benefit of a too light front end. You can rip alot of wheelies and manuals.
