Hello to All! Trying to get back in shape. I haven't ridden in a long time, since 1975, had a Raleigh 10 speed on ship. I currently ride a GT mountain bike but am going to buy a road bike soon. Looking forward to shedding some poundage.......Later, AvrgJoe. :)

I'm with you on that Joe... My wife and son bought me a toolbelt for fathers day and I've never been able to wear it b/c of my rather large stomach. I went downstairs last night to hang some drywall and thought I'd give it a try now that I've been riding for a week... To my surprise the damn thing fit!

Biking is far and away the most enjoyable way I know of to exercise... okay, well maybe the 2nd ;)

Hi Ron & Toe, Thanks for the encouragement! My goal is to hopefully be able to commute to work, 18 miles each way but working nights I'd almost want to be a biking lightshow, strobes but no smoke I'm not a rock star. Any help with the selection of a good commuter bike would help. $ to 2500 or 3000. Later.......

Hey Average Joe - welcome to BF and good luck/congrats on the weight loss. You can buy an awful lot of bike for $3K. I bet you'll get a lot of people wanting to help spend that cash. :D

Hey JoeDog, With approval from headquarters (my better half) I'll take what I can get. I have a friend at work already giving me advice/ helping spending cash. But no purchases as of yet...
