Mountain Biking - Kevlar reinforced tires

I just went ahead and bought a couple of Kevlar Reinforced tires for my 26" MTB. They are said, according to the specification, to be "very rigid and efficient in preventing flats from happening in the first place". Does anyone know if there is a grain of truth in this, are such tires usually efficient in preventing flats? I use my MTB as a touring/road/commuter bike so any reduced probability of getting a flat is very nice

Or did I just throw $25 (the difference between standards and those) down the toilet?

I am not familiar with Kevlar "reinforced" tires...do you have a brand/model designation?

Tires with Kevlar (aka aramid) beads are common, but that alone does not offer any increased puncture resistance.

Apparently, it's both kevlar reinforcement and full steel radial "jacket".
They are called Rubena COBRA ANTIPUNCTURE.

A kevlar belt within the carcase of the tyre is supposed to help eliminate some punctures, but doesn't help on the thorn punctures that pass straight through the reinforcement and then out again. It doesn't help on snakebites either, but these may be rare on the road.

I used to think that my hobby was not cycling but puncture repair - until I got Specialised Armadillo tyres. Now one year is the most I get - if that - and I have to pump up my tyres much less often, for some reason. I am suprised that every one doesn't use the. My one reservation is that the rubber tread limits the life of the tyre quite a lot. It wears and comes off. Otherwise they are a total must have.
:). If anyone could suggest a tyre that is as puncture resistant and which will last longer I would be glad to hear from them.

I'm pretty sure the person found a solution 4 years ago.
