Sure the money is nice but I'm torn. So I'm turning to the forum for answers. Give me your input on whether or not I should sell...

PS - This is not an advertisement. This frame is currently under contract. Maybe I'm getting cold feet. Maybe I'm wet. Maybe I'm teething, who know?! I'm a BABY!

I think that you need to hang on to it. It's too pretty!

Touche...touche...

Not only the love the bike would give. But from girls. Girls gone wild who love the two wheeled life.

WHAT? i voted yes, and then you tell me it's under contract? *shakes fist in futile rage*

i assume you're selling it because you don't ride it? if that's the case, then sell it. a bike like that deserves to be ridden hard.

if you're selling it for the $$$, then only sell it if you will use the proceeds to buy another bike. keep the dream alive!

I ride it but it's so nice I'm afraid I'll scratch it. Know what I mean? It has one of those fickle eye-talian paint jobs.

You PANSY!!! Give it to me!!!! I'm Italian (and a GIRL!!) and know how to ride a bike!!

Then definitely sell it. what good is a bike if you're not riding it?
If you're keeping it to just to look at, take some pictures, sell it and you can still look at the bike in pictures all you want (I know it's not the same). You've got some money you can still look at the bike and somebody else will be riding it and chipping the paint.

That's not it.

By the way, KOFFEE!!! Someone called me a Pansy!!! I've been called ugly, fuguly, pug ugly but never pansy!

Okay, the but thing is that I want something I can beat up & ride hard. My Medici is already beat so I don't mind.

It's like I don't want to pop this one's cherry. But maybe I'll keep it, just for calling me a pansy.

Ride the darn bike.

Bikes are made to be ridden first; ogled, worshiped, and drooled-over second.

If you don't ride it, you are a bike COLLECTOR not a bike RIDER. :D

raygunner

I don't think bike is anywhere near collector status.

Maybe for someone who rides a Huffy from Toys-R-Us...

Looks awesome. I guess it depends on how it performs too.

I have a beautiful lugged Bianchi I love looking at, but it flexes too much. My Common aluminum Cannondale feels like a Ferrari in contrast.

I would think stiffness on a fixed gear would be even more important than a road bike due to the fact you'll be mashing more. On a road bike you can finesse a smaller gear and spin up a hill instead of pound the bottom bracket.

ive been having a similar debate about my custom coast...no im not (and never will) thiking of selling it...but it is so beautiful taht i have been afraid to ride it too hard...especially when i have a very used khs to use for commuting

BUT...i have recently decided that there is no point in having a bike just because its pretty...so i have decided to race the s--- out of the coast...especially in central/prospect parks, and hopefully on the track soon

its kinda like having a sports car, but being afraid to drive it fast...whats the point

Drill the bridge and the forks, throw some brakes on and pedal up and down your block making freewheel noises!

If you are asking if you should sell it, then maybe it is not the perfect bicycle for you. Maybe you should sell it and get something that you will really love and ride.

Don't deserve it?!

What the hell do you mean?

Is that like asking someone about a new band and getting the reply "If you don't know you weren't meant to".

I'm stuck in an office & I want to see what you guys (and gals) think. I didn't come to get the proverbial eye rolls from guys like 46x17.

I know what you're saying - the paint chips on my Italian bird when I look at it funny. And you have too much sense to lock it up anywhere. If you're not going to ride it, sell it bro.

teadoggg
07-11-05, 10:34 AM
If you are asking you need to sell it. If you own this bike and have doubts about it you don't deserve it.

I really hope you're joking with that comment. Seriously, if you're not, you need to step back. Raygunner's questions is totally valid. I've been in the same position. The bike forums could benefit from a whole lot less attitude.

But if you're joking, you may want to add a smiley face, or something. I know this guy and trust me – he deserves this bike if he keeps it.

We are cool - no worries!

But, a lot of people here can't seem to take some good natured ribbing. Also, some people here are very biased towards certain kinds of ribbing.

For example, Raygunner says "F- brakes", but of course that is cool, that is not attitude, even though it probably hurts half the peoples' feelings here. I thought he could handle my comment after posting tough himself. I was wrong and I apologize. I will add smiley faces in the future. :D

do you really own 15 track bikes, Ceya?!

If so, that's disgusting, awesome, amazing and enviable!
I own 3 and my friends all give me ****. Not that I care about their bull**** - they're just jealous.

out of curiousity,do you ride ALL of them? if not, how many do you ride?

I'm living away from home (I'm in Spain) so I only have one with me. I miss the other 2. And, I'm really not materialistic, but I miss looking for new parts/bikes, too. I've found close to nothing in the way of track stuff here.

It's not that sick.

Junkies are sick. We like bikes.

And you know what? You can get a bike real cheap off a junkie. I got a new pump & a nice set of road wheels this morning for $3.

They'll be on CL tonight. Ahahahah!

dude. don't sell it just cuz you fear that it will get worn looking. when I started to sling drops my bike got all scratched, and dinged. but the more wear it gets the more I seem to love it.
it's one of the 04 pistas, and the more bashed the clear coat and stickers get the better it seems to look. Maybe just cuz I'm planning on jascoing all the labels off any way. It's like wear marks on a guitar. Or love bites on yout significant other. there is a big diff between well used and damaged.
these things we love were MEANT to be ridden.

riding = love = life

If you already have a street ride, then why don't you take that Cinelli out on a track? She's too purty to just sit around at home on a weekend night.

I live in the city hence I ride in the city.

Stuff going around in circles makes me dizzy. I like riding places & seeing new things. And finding new things to eat & drink. Oh, and riding around to check out girls. Yes indeed.
