Hi,
Let me take a minute to introduce myself. I am a life-long rider having started out on fixed gear, coaster brake equipped fat tire behemouths. Then into the 60s and 70s I joined the 10 speed racer craze. Eventually, I got a good Bianchi and upgraded it to partial campy.
Then came the mountain bike explosion. I exchanged the Bianchi road machine for a Bianchi mountain bike. What a heavy bike that was! Nonetheless I rode it for several years. Eventually I bought a TREK mountain bike and recently my son moved to China leaving me his alumninum Ralegh mountain bike.
Two weeks ago I acquired a celeste Bianchi road racer. All campy except for the wheels and hubs, (Mavic) it goes like a shot. It weighs in at just over 20 lbs fully equipped. I am having a hard time identifying the gruppo and have posted on the vintage bikes forum under the "Don't hate me" thread.
I am 55 and training for biathlon. I am doing 100 to 120 km per week and cross train on free weights. I also run. I have a grown family and my wife also rides. I am a counselling psych. managing a counselling service within a local agency. I have a ham radio license and a yellow Lab.
Cheers
