Just wondering what you all power up with before a ride? Complex carbs, thick coffee, 12 beers? ;)
I would like to nourish my body the best I can before hitting the trails.

I like a Clif Bar ,a banana. and a glass of water.

Don't want to be too full in my opinion.

If it is a morning ride, Coffee will be consumed too becuase I am a slave to the caffeine.

Waffles, lots of syrup, coffee in the morning. Pasta, chicken, and/or pizza for afternoon rides.

I like to go for some bread and some light meats (bacon/ham). A lot of water of course.

We get out early and get in a full English breakfast once the 30 miles and the fun bit is over. Rarely have the time or inclination to eat much before the ride, but Saturday evening meal is always full of carbs. Pasta, Rice with the curry or Chinese, and if I am still feeling hungry, a bowl of cereal or Porridge before bed.

Almonds. Lots of protein and they're pretty tasty. I like the roasted and salted ones. Getting some salt back in your bloodstream is key when you're sweating hard.

Night before carbs n protein. Either pasta and chicken or a burrito (lots of rice). For breakfast on the quick, a banana. Breakfast on the slow, a whataburger sausage taquito. Mt. Dew to wash em down. Beer is typically the post ride beverage.

For morning rides I do oatmeal (complex carbs) with a bit of brown sugar and a TBS of peanut butter (protein). I know this sounds funny but it's actually really good and it's an exceptional pre-ride food.

Oh yeah, I wash it down with a big cup of coffee because I simply cannot function without it!

Usually, 2: 24oz. Busch Light's & a pack of crackers....

Try it sometime. I bet it'll bust your bubble before you even get started....
Funny part is, I can still out-ride 99.9% of the other rider's out there with me, or that I meet on the trail....
Braggin'? No, just a fact, Jack....

Morning ride - cereal (or oatmeal) and fruit with a glob of peanut butter, soy milk, multi-vitamin

Afternoon ride - peanut butter and pickle (or lettuce) sandwich on whole wheat, carrot sticks, soy milk

I always try not to over-eat or to eat right before I ride. Worst thing is to eat greasy fast food before a ride; almost worst thing is to not eat at all ('I'll eat breakfast after I ride' is always a mistake for me!).

I ride at night after work most of the time, so I'll normally eat a sandwich with some sort of lunch meat, peice of fruit, powerbar, and a couple glasses of water.
