I am wondering if "The" is still in buisness. Can someone show me their website?

Personally, I don't waste my time with Toby's products....
I've tried several of them, and honestly they SUCK....

Sorry Toby, but the truth needs to be known sometimes....

My T.H.E. front fender busted like it was made of glass after about 6 rides.

Congrats to THE for making the most impossible name to search on Google.

You have to know that it stands for "Toby Henderson Enterprises" to find the website.

Don't google "the".

Had one of his front fenders for 4 years no issues. I did crack my THE rear fender, but to be fair I slid into a tree at 25km/h at -15C. Not ideal operating conditions for plastic.

The thicker fenders made of more fibrous plastic are probably more durable, but they are also heavier, for those who worry about such things.

Yeah it is impossible to find their website. Thanks everyone.

I am looking for a front downhill looking fender. Does anyone know where I can get one?

THANKS

Not sure what a downhill looking fender is but I got the Topeak Defender based on Raiyn's recommendation and love the set. Here's a pic. Click on the picture to hit the Topeak link:

Good times

Guess what else I did? I have reflective tape on every 3rd or 4th spoke pair on my rims. I'll probably post a pic on the commuter sub-forum when I have a chance.

You're a good influence even if you're crabby sometimes. :)

Then you'll like my next step. I've discovered reflective spray paint (made by Krylon and Rustoleum). It's a semi transparent paint that I plan on experimenting with it over the weekend on a section of painted steel to see how it looks. If it's successfull I'll be using it instead of some of the reflective tape currently on my commuter. I'll be trying single vs. multiple coats on prepared (wet sanded with 400 grit) and unprepared surfaces. If I'm really feeling cocky I'll even try my hand at masking out some small designs.
I'm doing this largely because it's obvious that reflective surfaces are a good thing, but having bright orange reflective tape all over the frame can look well DORKY.

Why not just run some neon on your down tube?

The subwoofer would get in the way.

I'd sooner use EL wire. Lighter and requires less energy

I was at the local library and some kid rode up on a trike rigged out with a car radio, speakers and a battery to run it all setup in a box much like that.

I don't believe it. What would you be doing at the library?

I'm partial to Green Eggs and Ham. I bought a bunch of Dr. Seuss for my daughters. Yeah, that's it, my daughters... I had no choice but to buy it for them.

So I've put the initial coats of Rustoleum's Reflective spray paint on my test piece tonight. So far I have 4 good coats on it and I'm starting to see a bit of reflectivity on the black painted steel used for the test. Of course I will need to wait for the paint to dry completely before I can have an accurate idea of how well it works.
Yes there's a couple reasons I chose a black surface for the test
I wanted to see what the actual paint would do with no help from the background material
My commuter is black and I wanted to go for more of a "stealth" look during the day with the benefits of a reflective surface at night.

If the results are unsatisfactory I'll test it on a lighter surface and if it's still not up to snuff Rustoleum has a nifty little satisfaction guarentee. If it comes to that I'll test the Krylon version

If you need stealth reflective tape, the eBay seller I bought my reflective tape from sells a black one. I bought the silve rone as it's rated as a higher reflector but I'm sure the black one would work fine:

Well the results were disappointing at best. The best way I could describe it is as being similar to the body glitter used by strippers. Yeah there's a bit of sparkle, but not the "stop sign" reflectivity I had hoped for and it's not such a turn on on a chunk of steel :p

What I had hoped for was this sort of effect.

I'm sure there are paint products on the market that will accomplish this task, but I'm not dropping the coin for them.

I've known about the black reflective tape for about ten years now and I've got a source for it already. (Thanks for the link though:D ) The company I'm going through even has a perfect match for the blue on my girlfriend's bike.

It's a shame too I had planned on masking off some "strobe stripes" for fun on my fork. Now I get to play games with cutting the tape  Oh well

Did you test the Krylon too, or just the Rustoleum? I'm looking for the same kind of effect.
