The cuda is designed to race so its no contest.
The civic is design as a cheap econo car like the Chrystler K-car of the 80s.
But what gets me angry is all the idiots puting $20,000 into a Civic when the could buy alot faster car for much less.

Oi, my head! Even the Hemi motors of the '60s and '70s could never make 100HP/Litre. On a dyno, rear wheel horsepower is nowhere near the claimed output. If you could find and purchase one, a stock "cuda, or any V8 from the late 1960s or early 1970s (pre-emissions controls) would be hard pressed to do better than a 13 second 1/4 mile.

Now take a look at what the Japanese know about volumetric efficiency. More, smaller valves instead of 2 large valves means more air flow, and at higher velocity. I did a little search on the fastest Honda Civic, and came up with this article from 2003:

I'm sure a 4 cylinder Honda would be a bit slower, but 13 seconds should be fairly easy to achieve. As far as your comment comparing a Civic to a K-car, you are once again talking out from between your sit-bones. The original Civic was conceived long before the K-car, the first model being a 1972. I'm sure the K-car, like most American cars of the mid 1980s, was designed for one purpose - to meet CAFE requirements. American 4 cylinder economy cars were designed to be as cheap as possible, sold just over cost, so that the manufacturers could sell their high margin luxury cars. It's why the Ford Escort and PT Cruiser exists today. The Cruiser is not defined as a car, since it helps Dodge meet their Corporate Average Fuel Economy. Translation? They have to sell them in order to sell the thirsty Durangos and Rams, which again are much more profitable. And doesn't Ford love to sell the Crown Victoria to government agencies? So no, there is no comparison between Honda and Chrysler. The only shameful act by Honda was to switch from F1 derived dual wishbones to Macpherson struts when they redesigned the Civic.

Trust me I like Honda, I own a honda dirt bike , and Honda ATV, I just dont like their cars. Also, My dads 73 Plymouth Duster with a 340 small block does mid 11s on a quarter mile. But Dusters, are alot lighter then Cudas, and were also race in the Nascar Compact racing series back in the day. Also I find Nascar and F1 both boring. I'm more of a drag racing person.

You are so not good at math. A '73 Duster with a 340 that turns 11 second 1/4s? You've got a few years to get to high school physics, so I'm guessing you've got no track time slips to back that up. And that's with over 5 litres, and probably no more than 8MPG, in a car that handles like a small barge. Not that I'm a big Honda fan, but you were the one that compared them to a 1980's K-car. Pull your head out.
