Touring - TransAm in 2003

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Hi,
I am doing the Yorktown to Astoria transam next summer and am kicking around the possibility of a ride partner(s).
Anyone interested?
Me:
30 year old male
I want to do 50+ miles/day and I am scheduling 90 days for the trek. If it takes shorter I may keep biking around up to Seattle or maybe down to SF.
Probably leaving Yorktown early May.

We're hoping to do the trip from the other direction (considering from east to west though, the logistics may be better from that direction for us) in 2004. A May start with 90 days allocated. Self supported, mostly camping, pulling a BOB trailer on the back of a tandem.

Thinking about the Transam for next year too. Last two tours i went solo might like some company for a part of the trip are you planning to camp? or stay inside? my usually method is to camp most nights and hostiles when available akong with a cheep motel occasionally.
i normally like to get arround 60 to 80 miles a day of course it depends on the terraine and wind. oh yea im 50
my plan is to reach the coast then ride down to L A again id be looking to time the ride to reach the coast after labor day
