Wow man, glad you weren't hurt. I assume from your post that you were working at the time.

I'd buy you a beer this weekend but I'll be out of town. What are you doing tonight?

Wow...
We go through this world, day to day, with all the best intentions.
We'd never harm anyone.
Sometimes that's just not enough.
Grateful you made it through the other side.

Wow. Glad to hear no one was shot... I know first hand what that experience is like. A few months ago I was putting up a friend in need who ended up making some very bad decisions, resulting in three thugs breaking into my house while my girlfriend, roommate and I were home over $50. Beat up my girlfriend and I, threatened us with implied handguns. None were shown, but I wasn't willing to call their bluff. It was a pretty involved ordeal where the whole house got ransacked...

Whats the fixie content of this? They didn't take my bikes, but at some point during the whole melee I picked up my brand new Krypto mini replacement and was thinking of konking this one guy with it from behind. I didn't because I wasn't sure that I could break his skull in one hit, and I didn't want my girlfriend getting shot in the next room. We ended up wrestling towards the front door over the ulock and one of the dudes left with it when they finally got the hell out of my house.

I went into the local gun store the next day, beat up, and picked up a nice pump action shot gun for the next time. Named "Poochie." Beware of dog, eh?

Had to double-check that banner to make sure I wasn't reading The Onion.

Only on the west coast...

Glad you're safe - that is tough. Last Spring a friend and I were mugged at gunpoint -- I thought he was about to make off with one of our bikes because we were in an industrial area taking photos and so I had my mini-ulock almost ready to come out in case he tried it. Instead a gun came out held to my friend's head and then later mine. She was ballsy though. Chased after the f@#ker.

Damn that sucks. Just be glad you got out in one piece. I've learned from experience (unfortunately) that the best thing to do is to not mouth off, cooperate fully, give them whatever they want, and do what the good book says: don't panic.

sh*t is scary karmical. I assume you work there? Brutal.
If I didn't have through metal detectors and x-rays with my bag I'll probably carry.
Instead I should have a sticker made that says:

"Courier carries no cash"

I had no idea there was such thing as "Oaksterdam".

And shotguns are your friend. I have a mean and scary looking black one.

the only thing keeping me together right now is my bike...
yesterday i against my own better judgement, went into work...i'm a tough guy, been shot a couple times already this should be no big deal....right?

lasted 5hrs then on the middle of the floor had a full scale panic attack and had to leave...tried to go back in today and soldier on, but they are pretty much making me take the rest of the week off at least. we've never been hit before so there were no procedures such as mandatory cooling off periods in place....

so back to the saddle, its funny it seems the only time i am not tripping is when i have to focus on riding..
