Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - Make sure the cork is in tight before you stuff the wine bottle in your Bag

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Because everything will end up wet and purple if you don't. :o
Make sure that you use a real metal flask instead of an old glass bottle before you fall over.
Because your bag will totoally reek like whiskey and you have to clean out a bunch of glass if you don't...
Actually learned that this morning on the way into work - went to fill my bag, found a puddle of whiskey and a bunch of shards of glass. Fun times.

I heart Nalgene bottles! Fill 'em with wine, fill 'em with booze, you'll be happy, and you just can't lose!
peace,

I'm a big fan of beer, available in easy to use, single-serve containers. Drink a beer, leave one in your bag for later, wheeeee.....
Later. Huh. Never thought of that....

i've had a can of beer explode in my bag.
i've had bottles brake in my bag as well (no thanks to friends hitting the seatbelt buckle)
but i've never had problems with my surly flask
and i've never had problems with a nalgene.
sidenote: think long and hard before putting Sparks in waterbottles. the flavor will never leave the bottle, and it will be rank the next day unless thoroughly cleaned.

Dude think twice about sparks in general. Although hey, at least it's not energy beer or whatever that bud crap is. Someone in R&D needs to be taken out back and shot like a sick dog.

I had a full order of take out Chinese explode in my bag two days ago. It miraculously failed to seap through the plastic bag it was all in, so I was blessed with minimal mess but my bag still smells delicious!

Hey, man, in Hong Kong and many parts of China, take-out food is just placed directly into the plastic bag. Think of your experience as eating Chinese food the "more authentic" way.

I lose daily when I go to drink out water out of my Nalgene and get a whiff of the Jack/Cuervo/whatever I had in there the night before.

While cycletouring in France I discovered that my panniers had strange pockets at the rear that held two bottles of wine! I’m not big on drinking and cycling, but I do like to ride out to a nice location and have a beer or a few glasses of wine and relax.

At a party once, I couldn't find a cup for the keg beer. Someone told me once that one of the great things about Nalgene bottles is their resistance to odor absorption.
Liar. Tasted like flat, watered down, cheap keg beer for a week.

Sigg.
I second Sigg. All Aluminum with baked in coating that won't come off. Beer then OJ then coffee then water all tastes like it oughta and with barely a rinse.
The Sigg people were next to us at a trade show once, got some on the cheap havent washed it yet.
