General Cycling Discussion - Do they make "grippy" gloves?

For whatever reason, I don't need much padding on my gloves, but I *DO* need them to have serious grip traction. I have weak roatational wrist strength so shifting is quite difficult. Are there any cycling gloves designed for increasing your grip power but still keep your hands relatively dry?

661's...I run the Raji's when its HOT and the Palomar when its cooler. Great gloves with grippy finger tips for that extra touch on the levers and shifters.

I'd already googled the heck out of grippy gloves and the best I could find was the greptiles, which are only available in Women's sizes now. Anyone with other suggestions.

Well these are not cycling gloves, but they are quite "grippy." I also sail, so I have a pair of these and they are just like cycling gloves, but without padding and the palm material is quite grippy. Even good when wet!

They come in full finger style too.

just had a thought - because of the usually wet and muddy conditions rugby players wear unpadded gloves with an extra grippy rubber palm and fingers.

also, don't football receivers wear gloves? I'd have a look at any wet weather ones.

Pearl Izumi makes a kit with special bar tape and matching gloves.

I use some $3 suede/lycra gloves that fit real nice and grip real good. Picked them up at a hardware store. They even have padded knuckles! Granted they are only padded with wads of cotton...

the rugby glvoes are a great idea....wide receiver gloves would be a good glove too.

But I still rec 661 brand gloves for cycling.

I'm going to hit the sports stores this weekend and look at some football/rugby gloves. The 661s look like they are all full-finger though, which would just kill me in the texas heat.
