This morning's ride was uneventful for the most part. It was the first time in two weeks I'd been on the bike, and the first time since a pro fitting that changed pretty much everything (flipped the stem, raised the seat, slid the saddle, moved the cleats, rotated the bars, phew!). But I was just cruising along, minding my own business and splAt! something hits me square on the bridge of my glasses, hard enough so make me shake my head in surprise. Had no idea what it was, until ... yup, there it was, that acrid stench of bug guts. Blech. Luckily the road I was on wasn't busy....

Had a yellow jacket fly into my unzipped jersey last weekend. Stung me in the ribs a few times before I hit it hard enough to kill it (as a cop passed by going the other way). Stopped briefly to survey the damage and remove the carcass from my clothing. F%$*&$g bugs!!!

Last time I was stung was a good 12 years ago, coming down a fun descent in SoCal (right in my58vw's backyard: Box Canyon Rd); I was wearing a loose tee shirt, and a honey bee got caught between it and my chest. Never fun...

of course now that I've talked about it I'll look forward to getting stung in the next couple days :lol:
