Nicely set up, a little pricey (for me anyway, and compare to a Poprad) and I'd want to have a look at the geometry before I buy, as this is a very important aspect of how it's going to ride, if you know enough about frame design to judge by the numbers. They don't have it on the website-

Yea my LBS just got one in. Looks pretty good rides best on pavement. I think the S-Works TriCross Frameset is going to be the only race worthy one out of the three model.

A friend who is building up my CX bike right now, and sells and rides Specialized bikes, was pretty aghast at the pricing for this bike. He figured it should be down in the $1200 range.

Yeah, it's expensive but it has some pretty high-dollar wheels on it as well. It's a super sweet looking bike, though. I'd buy one if it wasn't $1500.

What's the deal with the "Semi-Compact" frame geometry? I could see how that could make shouldering the bike difficult.

I just got my s-works frame- looks real sweet.
it's not built up yet. matching it up against my Bianchi (steel, but I think same geomeotry as the Axis it replaced) it seems to have essentially the same space for shouldering. may a hair longer lengthwise, though I didn't compare super closely. both frames are "58cm", with a 57.5cm vistual top tube).
the top tube is flattened, which should be very nice for shouldering.
The clearance on the rear is good, maybe better than my bianchi. clearance on the front fork is MUCH better than the carbon fork on my bianchi (I was given the same carbon fork as found on the newer bianchi's). This extra clearance is one of the reasons I chose the specialized- I've had some races where muddy grass jammed in between my fork and wheel, and extra space makes a lot of sense to me. I think you could run REALLY fat tires if you wanted it.
