recently, i have been ill with a bizarre intestinal ailment that left me without substantial food for 5 days. during this period i obviously have been unable to perform daily tasks let alone ride. My weight went from 188 to 176. (i haven't been at 176 since fresh/high school)

so i went out today on my usual route not expecting much. well, right out of the gate i felt strong. i did this undulating, wavy road circuit (35 miles in all, replete with some narrow shoulders, some stops and some gravel/dump trucks breezing me)...anyway, i did it avg'ing 19.4 mph.

it was magical. i was ready to turn back after a small 12 mile loop if i didn't feel up to it. not alot of wind, etc. pushing 12 less pounds up those little but many hills was nice. i reached for another gear.....and it was there!!

Bikes are amazing. The human body is difficult to understand. It's all good!

I hope to lose another 10 pounds but I sure don't want to do it they way you did.

Sounds like a blast getting back on the two-wheeled contraption. Congratulations.

Good going RiPHRaPH! I'll bet you were going nuts to get back on the bike, though.
