Looking at mini U-locks I've realized that they are useless here in Riga as there is no place except street signs to lock them to. Every other post is too large in diameter. What do you lock up to? Thanks.

If you can find a natural gas meter outside, you can generally assume that no-one will try to cut or yank at the pipes to get to your bike... ;)

Does no one here use the much touted Kryptonite NY 3000 or any other mini U-lock? After all the posts recomending them I was sure I'd get a better response than this. Come on folks, what do you lock up to?

Well I will be receiving mine today, and I will be locking it to a parking meter if I find one.

Well there's lots of bikes racks here in Munich so I usually try and lock my bike to the end of one of these-failing that I look for metal railings/post/sign
but crime is really low here so theft is not a big issue- lots of people don't even lock their bikes up to anything but I can't bring myself to do that yet even with a cheap bike

Railings, parking signs, water pipes, parking meters, bike racks, power pole guy wires, guard dogs...
