Road Cycling - What wax to use on frame?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I want to give my frame some protection and need to know what wax to get for it. Any ideas, thanks

I juse use plain old turtle wax same kind you can use on a car (and can pick up at any auto shop)
Ya, I like Carnuba Wax best. Seems to shine up the bike nicely.
Also, spray some silicon on and around your BB frame; especially around where the chain stays and post tubes join the BB. It makes for easy cleaning of this oddly shaped area
Pledge- quick n' easy and most people have it already.

Does that really work as well as car wax? I have a bianchi which has paint that chips easily and Id like to cover up the chips that are already there to protect against frame rust (steel frame).
Wax your bike? Oh, brother!!

Meguiar's Cleaner Wax is pretty good. Takes out small scuff marks too. I prefer the liquid variety over the paste. Auto-parts stores should carry it.

Wax does not do a good job of protecting chipped area from rusting.
Either paint the chipped area with matching paint or use clear enamel.

after treating the area, lemon pledge works great.

If you have an unpainted Titanium frame, spray Pledge works great.
If your frame is painted I'd use a good auto wax/cleaner for modern finishes - don't want to mess up the clearcoat if you have it on your frame. Chips should be cleaned and touched up with paint or clear enamel.

In between thourough cleanings and waxings, I use some of the detail spray type wax. I spritz this stuff on and wipe it off. It takes only a few minutes and will take grime and road tar and similar crap off while leaving a thin coat of protection over the basic wax job.
If you clean your bike once a week, that's taking care of your equipment.
If you clean your bike after every ride, that's a sick obsession.
I need help.

Pledge is good for a quick clean but nothing looks as good as a really waxing.
