There are a few more good painting threads if you search for them, the above has good info with lots of great links.

Man....you gotta send it out.

If you have a nice bike and are wanting to refub the paint, it's gonna cost $300 +. Waterford does a good job for $350 including stripping, new decals made off the old ones, etc. But you gotta take off everything right down to the bottom bracket and send it to them and wait 6 weeks (a winter thing).

Your local auto body shop can't do a very good job, it takes a bike painter.

But the good news is if you do repaint you got over 4,000 color and a gazillion schemes to make your bike a one of a kind.

I have a 1988 red, white and blue Paramount that I think I going to send to Waterford this winter.

It's a used MTB that I'm just going to use to play with. I'm not a MTB guy, but it'd be fun to cruise around on, so high dollar isn't on the list of must.

But, it's like a pinkish red. I can't stomach it.

You know, I ought to use that search function just a weeee bit more, eh?

Thanks, Joe, for the kind pointer... I'll use the built in help!
