Hey all,
last tuesday I went after work with a coworker to get an introductory ride in mtn biking..(real trails..non of this flat dirt bike path stuff I have started out doing). My bike is a Trek 3700...first purchase/bike since 1988.
Let me tell you...the royal can of woop a$$ was opened up on us. What an experience....(thought I was gonna die from exhaustion!). A mid ride swimming hole helped cool us off. My friend had never road like that with his eggbeater candies and he fell quite a few times trying to balance. I didn't have anything..luckily I didn't fall.
In the end the guide (from Fellowship of the Wheel in Vermont... www.fotwheel.org) said I did well and we didn't ache to bad the next day at work. Now we both want to go back!
I know my bike isn't exactly up to par with what should be used on those trails...I hope it will work okay in the future.
I purchased a set of Wellgo wam 919 pedals off ebay...any advice if this was a bad buy? I suppose I should have done some research on them...lol
Now I need shoes. Andrenaline bike shop sold them and they said as long as I get a shoe that is SPD compatible they will work. I was thinking of getting price points SETTE Element shoe.
Any comments/advice would be appreciated.
