Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Hey, dad just gave me his mountain bike, but the thing is... we have no dirt trails around here... Don't know why he bought a mounain bike lol. I want to make it into more of a road worthy bike, like a road bike, but able to take a pot hole or two. Its a light frame (24lbs) so I am already half way there, just want to know if anyone had any advice as to what I could do to make it more road-worthy. I plan on making 40-90km trips every 3rd day or so.
Get some road tires, they would work better on the road surface than knobbies.

Can we get any specifics?
In general, road tires are great. More road oriented features are also better for more road use, like ummm... well, yeah, I need specifics first.
Slicks, flat bars, toe straps/clips, lights and a bar end mirror.
