Do they need to be the same model? If you get an XT Front Der., do you need to get an XT Rear Der.? Do they just work better together?

And will all front derailleurs work fine with my Hussefelt crankset?

Thanks a lot. ;)

No. I run shimano front and sram rear for example. You do 'generally' have to matchup the shifter with the same type of deraileur, but even then Sram offers the attack series (I think thats the name) which works with shimano.

And yes, as far as I know all front deraileurs will work with your crankset. Only thing that matters there is tube size, top or bottom pull and if, potentially, you have an e-type derailuer.

You can mix and match, a little tweaking may be needed though. Get the rear first, that one is used more.

Thanks guys. ;)

Could you recommend me a good front/rear derailleur combo for under 100 bucks? I was looking at the Shimano XT's on beyondbikes.com as together add up to around 100 bucks.
