RedHairedScot, put the sammich down!
I came back to Austin about two weeks ago from home, and I've stepped the physical activity up a good bit. Lots of Ultimate Frisbee, some good gym workouts, running at the track and at Barton Springs, and of course frequent biking. I'm averaging about two really good physical activities a day, balancing it all out, and I feel just the right amount of soreness in the right spots afterwards, so I'm not overtraining.
But my stomach is in absolute revolt. It wants food, NOW. More specifically, I'm craving simple carbs. I went through an entire 44oz "big gulp" of Coke in a couple of hours. I've quit buying chocolate, but my body walked itself to the corner store for a Snickers bar. I've been eating granola like I own stock in the company, and I've had odd specific cravings -- like McDonalds. I was ravenous by dinner, and I went through 3/4 of an entire box of hamburger helper (that's 3/4 of a pound of lean ground turkey plus whatever processed crap is in the box), a big baked potato, and an entire tin of canned fruit. I would've eaten the rest of the hamburger helper, but I forced myself to put it in the fridge, where it taunts me still.
I've been relatively active for my whole life, so I know that increasing exercise means increasing intake, but I haven't been a bottomless pit since I was 16. Any advice on regulating this, or at least replacing the chocolate/McCravings with something a bit better?
