Am I the only one who thinks this guy is a domestique posing as a podium finisher. He isn't nearly the racer Ullrich is so why not pace Ullrich and help the team? Instead he acts like he is this aggressive attacker racer who leads for 200 meters and then gets tossed off the back of every worthwhile climb. I know he won a stage but only because he was not chased because of his GC standing. His yo-yo lead / get dropped riding style it seems to me would make him unattractive to any team because he really isn't that good and won't help out.

First off I believe there is a rift between Vino and T-Mobile second his attacks are helping T-Mobile as much as pacing Jan cause they are eliminating Discovery Team which is the stated plan of T-Mobile.

I don't even know how to reply to this, except to say that he is actually a podium finisher posing as a domestique. I've been extremely impressed with his stamina this year (but not necessarily his team tactics). He attacks and attacks, wins a stage, attacks some more, and every now and then does domestique duties.

then maybe he is really a domestique, disguise as a team co-leader.... :D :D

You forgot, he gets dropped, dropped, dropped, and more dropped. Domestique duties?? He's never in the pack to be a good domestique - either attacking or getting flung off - a one man show. Attacking is fine IF you create interest in the leaders to chase. Nobody cares now if he attacks now because he comes back to the pack to get dropped.

Maybe Vino shouldn't have raced and won LBL?

Everyone except Basso and Rasmussen have been dropped significantly this tour. I said that his tactics don't make sense for the team, but I'm impressed that he is still there to do the attacking. Nobody cares if he attacks, not because they know he'll come back, but because he is almost ten minutes down.

This guy can climb mountains like a man possesed. See him in the 2003 tour? He couldn't race the TDF in 2004 because of injury. I would like to see this guy on a different team.

T-Mobile has a history of cramping riders with talent.

It should be interesting to see Vino on another team - maybe a new DS can harness his aggressiveness and make him into a better GC threat (or a better teammate for a GC leader on a different team).
