Well hi! I stumbled onto this website while I was supposed to be working. That's what I do...try to look busy by surfing when I have nothing to do! I'm a complete cycling newbie, but learning fast! Started about a month ago. Went to Target to buy a yoga ball and ended up with a cheap-o mountain bike to go along with it. Rode it on three rides: a 24 mile, a 10 mile, and a 30 mile. Wised up and bought a Specialized Expedition two weeks later. I'm loving it for my first bike, but I had to talk myself out of a WSD Trek. Thought I shouldn't go spending 1500 on a bike when I don't even know how to take care of 'em yet!
What I really like to do is off road stuff! I bought some gnarly dirt tires and went on a trail for the first time Wednesday. It was pretty rough! I was with two really experienced riders and I was the only one who didn't fall!! whoooohooo! Couldn't avoid the mud holes very well though, so I was the dirtiest! It was awesome. My upper body got sore..nice. I hadn't had any soreness from riding yet. Now I just gotta learn to get airborne!
But in my other life, I'm a dancer. Modern (the 'I don't get it' stuff) and ballet. I dance with a group called metal velvet dance project (no caps. I guess it's an artsy thing- not my idea) here in Memphis. I also work at the Board of Education as a research secretary. It's cool..all the benefits, paid holidays. Won't ever eat into my evenings or weekends. Pays the bills.
Oh yes, and I can get long winded :D

Welcome to the forums.

Certainly sounds like you're more than busy. It's great that you're managing to fit cycling in there too.
