Training & Nutrition - HRM and wireless Cat Eye interference

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I have a wireless Cat Eye computer with cadence counting on my bike.
Picked up an HRM from my LBS the other day but the wireless Cat Eye interfered with the device. (I forget the brand name of the HRM... it cost $75) Anyway, my LBS guy said he called Cat Eye and they told him there was no HRM that would not be interfered with by the wireless Cat Eye. The shop took back the HRM and refunded me but I'd really like to use an HRM to train a little more efficiently.
Anyone using one with the Cat Eye wireless? I'm thinking of the Polar 725 but I want to keep the Cat Eye as it has all my totals for the season on it. Will they work together?

The 725 is coded and should work just fine with your cateye. I know sometimes my Nike Hrm gets all screwed up beacuse of my wireless sigma computer.

I've got a Cat Eye double wireless (cadence + speed) and I recently purchased a Timex HRM (Ironman Triathalon Digital HRM #5C411) and haven't seen any interference in either device. I've been pleasently surprised with the Timex HRM (easy to use, many functions). I previously had a Sigma HRM and I would occasionally get some interference with both so I had to change it up.

That's good news. I'm not losing the weight as I had hoped and I suspect I'm dogging it. The Cat Eye cadence reports help me get my rpms up but I'm hoping that the hrm will get me pushing myself more.
I've been a yo-yo dieter for decades and, at 59, it's harder and harder to lose the weight. I'm watching what I'm eating and training about 100 miles a week but the pounds just are not coming off. I'm determined to keep at it but sure hope I haven't wrecked myself with all the yo-yoing. In 2003, I lost about 50 pounds, through exercise and a weight loss supplement program through a hospital. Then I fell at the end of the biking season (I did three long distance rides that year) and tore my rotator cuff. The weight all came back on. Now I'm riding again and eating sensibly. But, man, 6the pounds are clinging to me.
