i grabbed this off the BBC cycling website. i don't think he'll ever get out of lance's shadow.

yeah but in good taste and sportsmanship he signs anyway. I have heard of NFL or NBA players that would have told the person to go get something with them on it.

I think the book is just there backing the piece of paper that Jan is signing. With the spine facing away Jan probably couldn't even see what it was.

That's clearly a poor photoshop job.

I dont think so. If it came from the BBC why would they use a photoshop job? Also it would really make sense for the atugraph seeker to have the book in case he got close to LA.

the mag next to the book has lance on the cover as well, why would you assume its edited? Is it really that hard to belive a cycling fan wanted an autograph on whatever they had handy and it happen to be something with lance on it?

OK, I was wrong, this picture is on the BBC's website. Jan looks like a giant to me in the picture.

For one thing, he's a TdF winner, and runner up several times. He and Lance's history are intertwined. A true fan of Lance's, and of cycling, also has a respect for his rivals. They know that too. Truth be told, I'd honor Jan's signature over Lance's. And I'd also honor George Hincapie's signature over Lance's, especially after Sunday's results. In that regard, the photo tells me alot about who that fan is.
