I have been having problems with my BB lately. About a month ago the crank arm came loose and the square hole got rounded. I think hte the BB also got stripped in the process. I hope you all have an idea of what i'm talking about. My bike is still under warranty, but when i got the crank arm replaced, they mechanic either overlooked the BB or just ignored it. That scares me to say the least, but what i'm getting at is, when i get everything sorted out, should I get them to upgrade my BB to a splined BB, or will the tradiational kind that i have now be fine if it is put together properly? Or will the slined BB be overkill?

if you upgrade to splined (which is better cuz its a more rigid connection) then you will have to change urr cranks as well. its up to you to spend the extra money but I highly recommend it

I second that, go splined if you have the dough.

When I went to splined the difference was amazing - better power transfer, and a much more solid conection to the bike = can you say stiff.
