I wear a 9.5 size and I don't think these Shimanos come in that size.

Hard to believe anybody would make a shoe that DIDN'T come in 9.5--that's just about dead on the American average, which I think is a 10 these days. Could you be looking at the European size? On that scale, your 9.5 would be a 42 or 43. Most mail-order catalogs have conversion charts, or you can just google something like "US-Euro shoe conversion."

Try this shoe sizing chart (http://www.nashbar.com/sizesearch.cfm).

Shoe manufacturers make shoes for almost any size. Bike shoe sizes are not like walking or dress shoe sizes. You'll also find that shoe "fit" will vary from one manufacturer to another.
I have two pairs of mtn bike shoes for commuting - one is a size 44, the other is a size 45. Both fit great.
My road shoes are both 45, but I recently returned a pair because a 45 was too big.

The biggest problem with bike shoes is width. If you have a wide foot (wider than D) you may find that many shoes will be too tight. Shoe widths will also vary from the same manufacturer.

I tried the 43, an American 9 and it is too short.

I also tried the American 10 which is a 44 and I can fit a finger behind my heal.

the size chart says I need a 43.5 and that shoe does not come in a 43.5

So I either

buy the shoe that is too tight or too loose

or find another brand or style



I think too tight would be better than too loose as I can always just wear a thin wicking sock.


too loose isn't really an option I'd like to deal with... for multiple reasons

update: the 9's cut off circulation, and after trying the Cannondale Roam Men’s Mountain Shoe, I put the 10's on again and went with them. They will work!!!!

great shoe, not to bad to walk in.

I broke them in right and in the rain. LOL Well it was a nice 18 mph avg to work this morning. and then a 15 mph avg in the wind and rain on the way home.

Great pair of shoes !! I love them
