If my repeated visits and long stays weren't enough, I've found another way to let my LBS know just how attached to them I am. While hitting the local thrift stores today to see if I could find any parts to salvage, I found a T-Shirt that the employees at the local independent LBS wore at one point. Now they'll have even more reason to refer to me as that "weird semi-creepy stalker customer" when I come in. I'll have to refrain from wearing the shirt when I visit I guess. Currently they know me as the really sad guy that had his Langster stolen after buying it two weeks prior.

I guess this is also the obligatory introduction post for me. Hi, I'm jake and I'm obsessed with both bikes and my local LBS. I have been reading this forum for a while, but never had much to say. Here is a picture of me wearing the offending shirt:

Ha ha ha, that's pretty funny. I'd wear a t-shirt of my LBS for sure if i had such a shirt. I have patronized about 15 shops in my City but have found only one that is truly cool:

1. They know their stuff.
2. They always have or make time for me.
3. Prices are reasonable.
4. Good selection.
5. They don't try to sell me **** i don't want & are closeby.

If you want to know what i mean check my page (see sig.)

Good people and stores deserve recognition so i think it is a cool you got that shirt....
FREAK!... ha ha, no just kidding. I'd be funny to hear their reactions when you next walk in sporting it. Let me know please!

Best tip i can give anyone, drop a cold six pack off at your favorite LBS on a hot day. I did and i let them know i did because i appreciate the service and deals they have given me. What do you know,... since then the deals and service are even better! Nice..

the other day i went to my lbs, my brother broke his chain, he asked me if i could pick him up one. any way i bought itand gave it to him ,he put it on and his bike and it sucked it needed a tune up so he took it to the lbs, (this is two days later mind you) they tuned it up and gave him a list of things that he needed and new chain was on the list... i hate that shop.

Dude, that was very funny. I relate to the feeling as before relocating to Houston I used to hang out a lot at my local Performance and one of the guys there told me "Dude, you come here a lot". I guess I was freeking them out too. :D

If you hang out at the downtown city bike works you should go over to J street and go to Bike Chef. Much better shop without the roady snobbery of city. If you hang out at the sunrise shop, stay there, there is nothing worthwhile close by. ;)

You get your frame back from the powdercoaters?

Part of stalking your LBS properly is to spend a lot of time there, but not very much money.

A good bikeshop stalker is perpetually broke. Otherwise they would call us customers, and they'd LOVE to see us coming ;)

I hang out at Bob's Bikes up in El Dorado Hills and they're pretty awesome.

I go to my local shops late at night during my rides and window shop. That's the only type of shopping I can afford.

My LBS kindoff encourages hanging which is cool. They have a table with magazines and chairs. They regularly offer coffee. I like it there. Though i hope the owner doesn't think i am coming for his daughter since she is about 13 ha ha ha.

I wish there was something like Black Sheep Cycles around here.
That shop seems like the best idea ever.
