Wel word was in Feb of this year that the Pilot was to be built on old Sid lower's using a air assisted coil, and falling inbetween the Judy and Duke series. I personally have not seen one yet.

I have heard the same thing as Hunter. It is supposed to go in the line up between the judy and the duke, so it is a decent fork. I believe that the Spetember issue of Mountain Bike Action had an extensive explanation of the fork lineups for Manitou and Rock Shox. It might be worth it to check out the small article on the pilot to get some more in depth info.
