Well today was rather interesting. Before my normal mountain bike ride after work, I ate my normal two powerbars, drank plenty of water during the day and before I went out.

While on the ride, I pushed myself harder then normal, and I felt lightheaded. Being the brash guy I am, I kept pushing myself. The strange thing was, I had more energy then normal, and hammered for about 5 miles home on the street on my mtb.

My question is, why was I feeling so lightheaded, yet at the same time feeling stronger than I normally do?

I had a problem simialr to yours where I felt great during activity but after(remainder of the day) I got light headed every time I got up. My problem was a lack of sodium, maybe that will help

Hmmm. Normally I fill my camelbak with gatorade powder mix, but that ride was just straight water.

Maybe my body didn't like the abrupt change in re-hydration?

Maybe you were so concerned/preoccupied with being lightheaded that you didn't notice that you were pushing so hard.

Just a theory, sometimes that happens to me. Body goes on autopilot and my brain just goes through a series of random thoughts.
