Cyclocross - Which Cannondale to buy?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I am a fairly new biker, interested in a bike I can use for long distance riding, racing and triathalons. I was looking at the Cannondale R1000 but do not know how much of a difference there is between the R1000, R700 and R900 and if the price difference was worth the better components. Any suggestions, comments or help would be greatly appreciated as I am eager to start riding.
try searching the road cycling and triathlon threads.
The road and tri-threads, agreed, is where you should be searching. In brief, though, do buy the 'Dale with the best frame. Components should always be a secondary factor. As a racer, you're gonna replace them left and right, but the frame is your main investment.
And, oh yeah, do also buy a Cyclocross bike. They are so much fun (and Cannondale does make a nice one!)
