Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

i just bought the new adult size Schwinn spoiler series chopper and i'm going crazy trying to trick it out. got saddle bag, front tool bag, spiked helmet, iron cross seat and rear mirrors. WHAT I WANT TO KNOW IS: does anyone know where i could get a REPLICA (non-funtional) engine to put in the frame?? I would also like to inprove on my headlight. currently have standard bike shop light. not much room with forks and springs. And lastly i promise, i am looking for a rear brake light that could be controlled by my handbrakes. Thanks, Kaiser.

Does anyone have pics of the new Stingray XL? There's nothing on the Schwinn site. I'd be interested in seeing it and comparing it to the Spoiler.

For your headlight the place to mount it would be on the bottom tree in between the moveable forks if there's room. if not, then up by the handlebars. You've got an off the shelf chopper... if you truly want to personalize it you've got to fit & fabricate

As far as your 'engine' goes you could always pick up a Mattel Vrroom motor for it. MIB, it wil set you back about as much as the bike. Personally, I'd opt for the real deal at that kind of scheckles

thanks for ideas, i am going to have machine a bracket for the headlight. What I am really interested in, is a functioning tailight. i have seen them somewhere. they could be wired to my dual disk brakes. anyone know where? Thanks , Jim
That's simple Jim. A micro-switch (Radio Shack?) on the underside of your lever perch w/ an actuator on the bottom of the lever. All that's left is the wiring harness. A piece of pie!
Two, four six eight... let's all fabricate!
