Okay, maybe I missed something, but does anyone know why Petacchi isn't riding the Tour this year? (I know, he never finishes, but I thought he'd at least come to grab a few early stages)

Okay, maybe I missed something, but does anyone know why Petacchi isn't riding the Tour this year? (I know, he never finishes, but I thought he'd at least come to grab a few early stages)
He's going to ride the Vuelta as preparation for the World Championships. The course at the World Championships this year in Madrid should suit him well, and he thinks he has a chance.

Petacchi is a wheel sucker who only races for the last 2km of any stage, never finishes a race, is overpaid, is a crybaby when he falls off, has no athletic ability because he can't ride up a hill, and is basically all haircut and no substance.

Because he did the Giro and has said he is still pretty tired from that.
His Fassa Bortolo team also aim for the Giro as their "big race" because the local publicity is what counts the most to them.

Those damn sprinters just "ride behind the peloton" all day, "work" only two minutes a day and finish 120th in the GC. Then they make up "injuries" so they can quit as soon as they get to the mountains.
