I just bought a 1975 Schwinn Continental in *excellent* condition for $20. It just needed tires and some cleaning (see attached picture). I always wanted one of these when I was a pre-teen/teenager, but I had to settle for a Sears Free Spirit.
I plan on doing a lot of riding on this sturdy beast.

Hi,
I'm new here too. I also have an old Schwinn. Not sure what model or how old. A friend gave it to me and it came here to Pittsburgh with her from Kanas about 15 years ago. I'm repainting it now. She took excellent care of it.

Hello, preachermain,
That is some find you've got there! Wish I still had my old Schwinn. EXhusband (emphasis on the EX) gave it away. Mine was similar to the one you bought only blue with white on the lower portion of the front forks. And my best friend during high school years had that Free Spirit that you mentioned.
Happy riding!
