Sorry kids, no more commercials until the race is over!
Sorry kids, no more commercials until the race is over!
Thank God, I didn't know what I cheered more for, Lance on the Podium or no more "BowFlex Tread Master" DVD offers ;)
They did play a new 3rd Cervelo ad today that was accompanied with pulse pounding music only :)

Even though I know this is an ancient thread, I felt the need to bump it once more.
Am I the only one already tired of watching the same commercials for this year's TdF? It's so annoying that I decided to whine about it in one of my blogs.
Are there not commercial messages on all their butts?
The good, the Miller Commercials where the guys removes the beer.
The bad most of the rest
The ugly Saabs born from jets. The have worn that one out.
The Vault commercial is okay.

Petra Nemcova (HP ad) is mesmerizing. The accent, the strut, the curves, the philanthropy. They filmed it cutting off her head, letting us stare at her body without guilt.

The Scotch Blue painter's tape girl is attractive too. Unfortunately, I recognize her from her Valtrex ad. I'll pass on the genital herpes potential.
The Petra Nemcova ad no lionger mesmerizes after being seen 20 times in one day. I'm rather sick of it actually.
On Eurosport it is Skoda Skoda Sidi, Skoda
So even though you and I have different ads we all feel the same about them
ENOUGH!!! already

So even though you and I have different ads we all feel the same about them I was hoping you guys across the pond would be more fortunate when it comes to TV ads. :o I guess not.

The Cervélo ads kick ass!
However, they were much better last year when they showed structural tests in a deadpan-engineer-humour-style. This year they're kinda boring in comparison: I don't really get the whole hill caving-in thing. That's already how I feel- without a Cervélo.
No doubt- the ads last year made me read more about the company and support it 100% based on their philosophy towards cycling.... and they're Canadian (support local goods !!!)
What I'm sick of seeing: Bowflex ads. What the f**k! I get it, but you know what? Not 1000x per day!! And the dude in the ad is not even the one shown working out on the machine!! What's up with that?!
I WISH we had Fosters commercials instead. Although, all those car commercials make me want to puke. Cervélo should do something about that- I'm sure they'd come up with something witty and to the point.

Didn't see our friend Bob very much during yesterday's stage.
The Visa and Harley Davidson commercials have also gotten old - just from two days of viewing.
Here is what I sent to Versus (http://mhatamoto.blogspot.com/2007/07/same-commercials-grumpy-mike.html).

I was pleasantly surprised by the Specialized ad showing Italian cyclist Benini (sp?) riding alone – obviously in Italy on narrow roads in beautiful little villages – with voiceover in Italian (with English subtitles)! It has the look and feel of an Italian film – yet it’s an ad aimed at American cyclists. And you can’t tell what they’re selling until the last few seconds.
Yeah, I like the Specialized ads as well - both the Boonen and Bettini ones. On the whole the quality of the commercials is rather good - there's just too dang many of them!

I'm both jealous and grateful... Being at work all day, I'm tortured by online coverage and miss all the commercials. But once I get home to my beloved DVR, I can buzz right through them and get to the good stuff.
*lamenting* What did I ever do without you, my precious DVR? Life was only a husk before you came into my life. *sigh*

The Bettini Specialized ad is a little deceptive. Bettini is decked out in his World Championship uniform, riding his Specialized Tarmac bike. However, he won his World Championship stripes on a Time bicycle.
I still prefer the Petra Nemcova ad. I would like to see her underwater photos.
Here's an intrawebs tip for ya:

On the Specialized one - they never say anything about his world championship or what he won it on so I don't think it's misleading. Here's what he rides, here's what he looks like riding it.
