So what do you guys think. Can he bridge the 2:12 and podium. Rasmussen looks tired.

He has to average about .9mph faster over the entire course...
If it was dead flat I'd say yes, he could smoke him..... Given the course layout... I'd say its going to be very close, with Jan just edging him out by a handfull of seconds.
I think so. Rasmussen vs. Ullrich in a time trial? Jan is stronger.

Uli will smoke him. What's more of a question is how far will Rasmussen get before Lance shoots by, don't blink or you'll miss it. Really though, Rasmussen is a fish out of water in a time trial and Uli is one of the best in the world.

Will Lance catch Basso? Its 2 minute intervals right? If he does he'll pass probably 2 riders on the course. That would be amazing.
I think jan is going to crush Rassmussen, probaly beat him by 3 minutes or more. I think Jan knows this. Although the 30seconds he gained today didnt hurt things for Jan.

Rassmussen was quoted as saying he's really never time trialed hard, because he's never been in a postion like this before. With that said, I think everyone in the top 15 on GC will time trial faster than him. I think Lance and a few others will beat him by 4 to 7 minutes.

Well then Rassmussen wont know how his body will respond once he does put it to the test.
Do you smell smoke? I smell smoke?
Hes gonna burn up.

I think Basso will pass Ras, but I'm not sure if Lance will pass them both. Although it IS a long TT course. Should be interesting.
Yes.
And Jan to win the TT as well.

1.10-1.15 will be on the money I reckon.
I'd like to see Jan win. If he has enough fire in him, he could do it.

Not many names have the talent to finish in front of him. Especially 20 days into a Tour....

I would be surprised if Ras holds 3rd. Jan is way better than him in the ITT if history to this point is any judge. I wouldn't be surprised if Basso and LA pass him.
Yes Jan will win. His team is still superior to Rabobank. Look at all the time they picked
off DSC today, (Thursday 21 July). I personally like Jan a lot. I believe he will be on the podium.

What does his team have to do with the TT?
Lance is going to win this one, btw.

Jan will beat Rasmussen by at least 3 minutes. I wouldn't be surprised if it was 5+

They said the Great Dane Razz could not hold the polka dot jersey . . . they say he can't time trial . . . Go Razz, disappoint all the nay-sayers and be on the podium!

siily goose, we were chatting about whether or not he will beat Mickael Rasmussen...
not whether or not Armstrong will win Le Tour de France

Yes I understand that but I dont understand how T-Mob vs Rabobank is really the issue with and individual TT coming up. Unless you think that Rassmussen is going to lose more time tommorow because of the weakness of Rabo boys being weaker.
The TEAM part seemed rather extraneous at this point I guess. The race would seem to me to come down to stage 20 mano o mano. Which of course I give the nod to Jan.
ps. My Lance comment was for him to win Stage 20, not in reference to the GC.

Like Lance said, "every second counts...." Which you are knowlingly aware of.

I know that Basso has improved his TT, but I'm kind of curious to see how much of that gap Jan closes as well. I think Jan has shown that his form has improved tremendously over the last few days. TT is Jan's forte, you can't look at the 1st stage really because of the crash the day before.
Basso would have to ride pretty badly, and Ullrich would have to show solid form. But it's possible isn't it? Not saying likely, just possible.

3'12"....hmmm its a possibility. Basso didnt look so good in stage one either, regardless of his 2nd place to DZ in the Giro. This one is obviously longer and the difficult sections are mostly early on, with some nice slight down hills for Jan to churn that huge gear ring.
I give it 1 in 8 odds.

Yeah, I agree with you there... I think it's a given that Rasmusen will be bumped off the podium but.. it's more interesting to think about if Jan can overhaul Basso... it's a long shot (Basso's form has been pretty solid of late too) but I agree it is possible... if Jan can get his TT up to it's previous levels... and yeah, i think Basso needs to have a bad day too for this to happen.
I REALLY want Ullrich to ride the TT of his life. To beat Basso would be INSANE! Though I am confident Jan will make the podium.
