I'm looking for a book to discuss bike mechanics and maintainence. I have a fairly extensive background with cars, so I have a lot of tools and bit of mechanical knowledge, but I'd like some sort of reference on bike-specific things (torque specs, what not to do, how to adjust deraillers, etc). Not too beginner oriented as it will be annoying but something comprehensive and informative.

Here's a store page I found with a number of them for anyone who is interested: http://www.stores.yahoo.com/trailresources/how-to-books-repair.html

Now let's hear your reviews! ;)

I just bought bicycling magazine's complete guide...but haven't really thumbed through it yet. I too have some auto and motorcycle experience, and think this should be a good choice. I think someone else recommended it as well. There are also many internet resources. Try searching the forum, and I think you'll find some.
