I dreamt I had wandered into an old repair shop downtown and found about 5-6 old bikes hanging from the back wall. The old guy was going to give them to me because he had no use for them. I took one down and it was a weird type of folder--it fold flat, top to bottom. Unforunately, I then woke up. Dang! I really wanted those bikes!

I wonder what Freud would say about dreaming about old bikes? I may have to visit a few thrift stores today....

The bicycle gods are trying to speak to you.

You must listen and obey their will.

Obey! Obey! Obey!

So what have some of you other folks dreamed about concerning bikes?

I had a weird dream about 10 years ago; the dream begins with me riding on a fully loaded touring bike...a bike I currently do not own, just after sunrise on a cool day rolling into a very small town main street and see a cafe where I decide to get my breakfast at. I park the bike outside and walk into the cafe where I'm greeted with the sounds and smells one would expect to find in a cafe. The waitress introduces herself and shows me to a table, but on the way to the table I see a woman who I think I remember from a long time ago; so I introduce myself and she invites me to sit across from her, then I learn she was a classmate I knew in school and lived in the same neighborhood that I lived in but (I) moved away when I was 15 and whom I had forgotten all about...but now in this dream she's old about 65ish! Then I look down at my hands and noticed their wrinkled and realize I'm also about 65ish! (I was in my early 40's when the dream occured) That's when I wake up.

Don't put that out of the realm of possibility. My grandma is married to her high school sweetheart. They met up again after many years apart a few years after my grandpa died, I believe just randomly. I don't really know all the details - I'm not too close with most of my family outside of siblings and parents. But if I were you I'd start looking for that touring bike, and pay whatever the person that owns it was asking. I've got the feeling it might be next to nothing, or they would insist on giving it to you....

All of my bike dreams involve riding bikes, not bike shops or finding bikes. Last night I was dreaming that I was riding with my messenger bag turned around so it was on my front side, and for some reason it wasn't hitting my legs...

Last night I dreamt my bike was slow.
Today besides other, I played with my calipers.
Morning we ride.

This thread is cruising around. Tibetan Buddhists believe that you can train your large mind to function during sleep more effectively than awake. Among other things, they say that in order for you to take command of your dreams, you focus on seeing your body in your dreams (like, um, your hands or, um, your knees not hitting the bag). Once you consciously realize that you are in your body (while still asleep) all kinds of things can happen. Castenada described a similar belief in one of his books about Yaqui brouhos. And now, back to the bike!

Does this count?
I was having trouble figuring out how to fix an axel problem on my 86 WorldSport. (I'm still learning how to train myself to do all my own repairs).
The solution came to me in that half awake/asleep stage.
Just canabalize from one of the old mountain tires hanging up in the garage, It's not perfect but it will keep me rolling for no $$.
