when i ride and jump off curbs and other things my chain makes a bunch of noise slapping all around and stuff.

the bike is brand new and everything is still tight (I just got this thng two days ago)

obviously it is going to slap around some but is this normal?

what do the hardcore guys do? or how do they set it up different?

is this noise just something i'm gonna just have to learn to live with?

thanks!

Yes tis normal. However if you want to fix it, a chain tensioner will help.

Lizard Skins makes a chainstay protector that will help a lot with the noise, plus keep from chipping the paint on your chainstay. About 10 bucks. Definately worth the investment.
